About the tour:
Travel Plan
Bus to the Chopicalqui curve at the bottom of the Quebrada Llanganuco 4200m. A short distance seperates the base camp from the road. Set up the camp and prepare the equipment.
By crossing an immense spur of moraine the path leads us to a large wild crest and then to the moraine camp 4900m.
From the moraine we reach the right side of the glacier which we climb, avoiding the crevices with slopes of 30°. Camp at 5400m on the south-west crest.
We continue the ascent by climbing the south-west crest, avoiding possible seracs. Now and then the snow can be quite deep. Slopes of 40 to 50° with some short steep sections of 60° where we will use technical equipment to continue. Summit and return to the moraine camp.
