UYUNI SALT FLAT
The Salar de Uyuni is one of the great attractions of Bolivia. You will leave Uyuni and for 6 days you will travel through an incredible landscape. During the days you will mainly visit the Uyuni salt flat and spend the night in a salt lodge. The next day, you will access the Eduardo Avaroa National Reserve, visit the altiplanic lagoons, the Siloli desert and the 'Sol de la mañana' geyser field. In total you will travel 900km in a 7-seater 4x4, accompanied by our guide who, in addition to helping you discover the area, will ensure quality and safety during the tour. During the tour we have the climbs to Uturuncu 6008m, Licancabur 5920m. At the end the highest peak of Bolivia Sajama 6542 m.
Arrival and breakfast in the town of Uyuni. The group will leave at 10:30 am from Uyuni and will make the first stop at the train cemetery, where several old abandoned locomotives lie on the white ground, creating a very peculiar landscape. We leave for the Region of Lípez.
Accommodation, lunch and dinner INCLUDED – Breakfast NOT INCLUDED
Again, today we must get up early, because we want to climb the 6008m high Uturuncu volcano. In 4x4 we can get quite close to its top, so we will only have about 600 meters of unevenness to ascend to its top. Climbing experiences are not necessary, but altitude could be a major issue. From its top we can observe and enjoy a fascinating view of the Lípez Sur region.
Back in the car, we have to drive back to Quetena.
Lodge, Breakfast-lunch and dinner INCLUDED
We will get up very early to start the tour to the "Sol de la Mañana" geyser field, since the activity is greater during the first hours of the day and only then will you be able to observe the numerous active geysers, fumaroles and even a small crater with lava volcanic. The trip continues to the hot springs where we can swim in a pool of natural thermal water. After the bath we will go to the Salvador Dalí desert and visit the Green and White Lagoons. The incredible views, with the Licancabur volcano in the background, make the perfect setting for exploring the area. We stop at La Cabaña to prepare our climb to Licancabur.
Lodge, Breakfast-lunch and dinner INCLUDED
At 2:00 am, before sunrise and after breakfast, we will begin our ascent, which will take between 6 and 10 hours, to the edge of the crater, located at 5,900 meters above sea level. We will have the opportunity to see the sunrise that will give us the best images of the day for sure. we will be surprised too
up there when we see a beautiful lagoon of half a hectare inside the crater, considered the fifth highest lagoon in the world. Our descent lasts 3 to 4 hours to the camp, to collect our things and then take the vehicle to return to La Cabaña.
Lodge, Breakfast-lunch and dinner INCLUDED
In the morning we will go to the Siloli Desert. Here we will observe the "Stone Tree", a volcanic rock that, as you can imagine, has the shape of a tree. Next, we will visit the Chiarcota, Honda, Hedionda and Cañapa lagoons, followed by the Salar de Chiguana and the town of San Juan del Rosario. We will spend the night in the Hostal de Sal San Juan del Rosario or similar in Atulcha.

We will start our last day of the tour very early in the morning with a view of the sunrise at the Salar de Uyuni. After this we will go to the Incahuasi Island, a limestone formation located in the middle of the salt flat where we can explore and get another perspective of the salt flat. Then we will continue to the Salt Museum and the town of Colchani, which are located outside the salt flat. From here we will go to Uyuni, passing through the train cemetery, where we will make a brief stop to take pictures. In Uyuni, we will say goodbye to our driver/guide who accompanied us during the previous days, and then we will have free time to have lunch and explore part of the city.

Where we will register at the visitor office and pay the national park fee (30bs, subject to change). Sajama Mountain is clearly visible as it stands alone on a plain and has a perfect conical shape. The surrounding foothills are home to the highest forest in the world, which is made up of a shrub-like tree called Queñua. From the town we will have a walk of about 3 or 4 hours to the base camp where we will spend the night (4600 meters - 15091 feet) Pack mules will be used to carry the equipment.
Shop, Breakfast-lunch and dinner INCLUDED.
Today we have a hike of around 4 to 5 hours to reach the high camp at an altitude of 5,500 meters (18,044 feet). The terrain is rocky and moraine and we will camp on a ridge with excellent views of the mountainous plain. Obviously at this altitude it will be cold at night and the opening of Sajama can also mean that it can be quite windy. For this section we will use porters to carry the equipment.
Shop, Breakfast-lunch and dinner INCLUDED.
We get up early (around 1am) and start climbing the snow line, so we'll need our crampons and be tied up. We will walk steadily up the ridge over the snow until we reach the top. There are no technical sections to climb, but the altitude will make walking difficult and a steady pace is best. The ascent takes around 6 to 8 hours to the summit. Here we will rest and enjoy the views before starting the descent along the same route to the high camp where we will spend the night.
Shop, Breakfast-lunch and dinner INCLUDED.
We will set up camp after breakfast and return along the same path (with the porters carrying the equipment) until we reach the base camp and then descend to meet our vehicle again for the return trip to La Paz.
