Shilla – Huaypan – Tumpa- Musho – Cajapampa- Arhuay- Campo Santo Yungay

Transfer by vehicle to the town of Shilla along the asphalt road Carhuaz Chacas. We start this route from this town with the background of the Huascarán. We climb progressively towards the town of Huaypán 3360 m. by paved road. The highest point 3500 meters rises here after the agricultural fields of Pampacancha. The view of the Hualcán 6000 m and the snow-capped Copa 6180 m dominate the southern part of the landscape. The dark ridges of the Cordillera Negra contrast with the sky. The descent begins at the foot of Nevado Huascarán towards the towns of Musho and Tumpa. Musho is the starting point of the normal route to climb the Huascarán. In each town we make a good rest to hydrate and interact with greetings to the local people. we left Musho to take the dirty road to Cajapampa to reach its heights of 3200 m. We are below Huascarán Norte 6655m. Later We resumed a descent towards the town of Arhuay and the Ranrahirca river basin, witness to the tragic snow slide of Huascarán Norte on May

31, 1970 that buried the city of Yungay. From the bridge we ascend one last slope to descend to Campo Santa de Yungay. Lunch in a typical local restaurant. Return by vehicle to the hotel.
