HUASCARÁN HUT HIKE 2D/1N
It is a demanding and unique trekking to the Refuge located at a higher altitude 4700 m and below the highest tropical peak of Peru El Huascarán 6768 m. Enjoying the sunset in the Cordillera Negra are unique moments. You spend the night in comfortable rooms completely decorated with wood. The second day, very early, we walked along the Raimondi del Huascarán glacier and then descended by an alternative path to Musho, in the valley.

Summary Itinerary
Day 1: Carhuaz 2650 m - Huaypán 3500 m - Huascarán Refuge 4700 m
We leave early in the morning in a private vehicle in the direction of Carhuaz, then we go up to the town of Shilla. Always with our vehicle we reach the community of Huaypan at 3500 m, with its terraces of potatoes and wheat. After a eucalyptus forest we start the path of the Huascarán refuge. Always ascending to the flank and the dominant view towards the valley being the most important Black Mountain range. The cities of Huaraz, Mancos, Yungay become visible in the landscape. After reaching a rocky promontory, the Huascarán refuge remains 1 hour away. Arrival at Refuge.

Day 2: Refugio Huascarán 4700 – Glacier Moraine 4900 m - Musho 3000 m.
After appreciating the sunrise, we settled in for breakfast. Walk along the edges of the Glacier appreciating the two peaks of Huscarán and on the horizon the Huandoys. Descent along a path with a view of the Musho valley. After a large eucalyptus forest we arrive at Musho. A sheltered valley with a very good temperature. Return to Carhuaz by private bus.
