Biking the Chicha and Beer Route
Due to its geography, the Callejón de Huaylas is a privileged area for mountain biking. The Cordilleras Blanca and Negra offer circuits for all types of cyclists and levels, being the ideal route for those who want to know the true meaning of traveling by bicycle from 2000m to more than 4,000 meters high. Perhaps the paths of these routes are narrow, with puddles, mud, and panoramic descents, but the pleasure of cycling through the heights of the Callejón de Huaylas is rewarded with spectacular panoramic views of the White and Black Mountain Ranges that surround us.

Detalle de itinerario:
Carhuaz 2650 – Acopamapa 2600 m – Purhuay 3000m- Mark 2750 – Carhuaz.
It starts from the Plaza de Carhuaz in the direction of the Tambo neighborhood. We descend to Acopampa to then cross the Hornuyoc Bridge. We begin the sustained ascent towards the town of Purhuay. We are now in the Cordillera Negra a perfect viewpoint of the Cordilelra Blanca with its snow-capped Huascarán, Copa and Hualcán. After a few breaks we arrived at Purhuay, an agricultural town and very welcoming, the highest point of our journey. We descend to Marcará and visit the square and its church. We continue our itinerary along an old path parallel to the paved road. It is a pre-Hispanic trail and also used by the Incas. In Ucuchas we stop to taste the Carhuacino Beer together with the fermentation plant of the same beer. Then we went along the same path to Acopampa to taste the Chicha de Jora.
