The Peru Refuge and Lagoon 69 trekking offers a new way to carry out a mountain activity with the comfort of the Andean Refuges. Summary Itinerary
Day 1: Carhuaz 2,650 m (or Huaraz)– Cebollapampa – Refuge Peru 4,680 m.
Around 7:30 a.m., with a private bus we begin the ascent towards the Llanganuco valley. We briefly descend towards Yungay where we pass through the vestiges of the old town of the same name that was devastated by the avalanche of 1970. About 2h30 we arrive at Cebollapampa 3900 meters, located 10 minutes by car from the Orconcocha lagoon. We begin the ascent crossing the left bank of the river demand in the direction of snowy Pisco. The trail zigzags progressively up to the Peru Refuge. We arrive at the refuge, a welcome tea then we settle.

Day 2: Peru Refuge – Tres Cóndores Pass 4,900 m – Lac 69 4,600 m –Carhuaz 2 650 m.
We leave early after breakfast, we cross the moraine of Huandoy and Pisco where we can appreciate a small lagoon in formation. Always with the panorama of the snow-capped Chopicalqui and Huascarán we continue the ascent towards the crest of the TRES CÓNDORES pass at 4900 m. From the pass we appreciate the impressive wall of Chacraraju 6112 meters with its 1200 meters of vertical wall. Then we descend to lagoon 69 with a turquoise color. Return to Cebollapampa by the classic path and we complete the tour. Return to Carhuaz.
